Born and raised in this vibrant city, I'm deeply rooted in our community. As a current member of the Salinas City Council and former Santa Rita Union School District Board Member, I'm proud to serve the very district where I once studied and where my children now live and learn. My journey is a testament to the American dream, shaped by the hard work and determination of my immigrant parents from Mexico.
My parents' story is one of perseverance and entrepreneurship. Starting as field workers, they ventured into selling bicycles at the original Sky View Drive-In Flea Market. My father's natural leadership led him to become a Mayordomo and later a business owner on Alisal Street. My mother, equally ambitious, became a realtor, broker, and successful businesswoman. Together my parents opened Supurb Water Stores and Saul's Menswear, a landmark on E Alisal for years.
Family is at the core of who I am. I'm blessed with two brothers, Ericka. My wife Ruthie and I are raising four wonderful children: Bella, Ethan, Nathan, and Shawn. Their activities, from tennis, baseball, basketball, band, keep us busy and proud.
I'm grateful for the values my parents instilled in me: caring for people, working hard, and treating everyone with respect. These principles guide me in my service to our community and service on the City Council..
